Selena Gomez is responding to the recent photos showing her kidney transplant scars in the most amazing way.

The 25-year-old singer and actress, who is currently enjoying some down time in Australia with friends, took to her Instagram to share a video spending time with her pals.

In addition to the joyful video, Selena included a caption, commenting on the notion of beauty in today’s society.

“The beauty myth – an obsession with physical perfection that traps modern woman in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self consciousness, and self-hatred as she tries to fulfill society’s impossible definition of flawless beauty,” Selena wrote.

She added, “I chose to take care of myself because I want to, not to prove anything to anyone. Wind in her sails.”
